Steven Hassine, founder of Ganalytics, has over fifteen years of experience in the financial markets and is currently registered as a Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA) and Commodity Pool Operator (CPO) with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and is a member of the National Futures Association (NFA).
Steven holds degrees in Mathematics and Political Science from Johns Hopkins University, where he also received minors in Economics and Business & Finance and ran two successful small businesses. He started his career in finance in 2006 supporting the fixed income desk at BNP Paribas, where he covered an array of products including treasuries, agency bonds, municipal bonds, mortgage backed securities (MBS), repurchase agreements (repos), and derivatives. In 2007, he was recruited to trade on the MBS desk, where he focused on agency backed adjustable rate mortgages (ARMs). In 2009, he left BNP to start an ARMs desk at Jefferies & Co, where he built the entire risk-based platform and trading infrastructure from the ground up. After four years at the banks, Steven left Jefferies to trade for himself and travel extensively.
In 2015, Steven decided to mechanize many of the technical trading strategies he had been employing over the years and start a commodity fund. He established Gander Capital and managed the Gander Multi-Strategy Fund, which employed several fully systematic technical strategies alongside a discretionary global macro-style strategy. The fund traded a broad array of futures products across all sectors (currencies, equities, metals, energy, agriculture, interest rates). While running the fund, Steven set out to mechanize the fundamental side of the market as well.
From 2016 through 2018, Steven developed a robust analytics platform (the basis of the Reduction Reports) to rigorously incorporate the fundamentals and other considerations into the trading systems he employed. He individually researched, modeled, and compiled each covered market into the Reports. Steven employed the resulting analytics into his trading systems and continues to actively maintain, improve, and trade with them today.
In 2018, Steven founded Ganalytics to provide an array of data, analytics, and software products to the public.
